Basic Human Anatomy Neuroanatomy and Special Senses Volume-3
Duyuru
26.12.2023

Anatomy is an important branch of basic medical education. This critical discipline elucidates the intricacies of the structure and function of organs in healthy individuals, establishing a foundational framework essential for clinical practice.

The present book series is carefully partitioned into three distinct volumes to offer a comprehensive resource for medical students. The first volume focuses on the musculoskeletal system, introducing the basic knowledge of anatomy and expanding on the bones, joints, and muscles. The second volume covers systems and associated organs. This third volume contains detailed information about neuroanatomy and special sense organs.

The content of this volume spans a range of topics, including the central nervous system with components like the brain, brainstem, and spinal cord, as well as the diencephalon, limbic system, basal nuclei, and reticular formation. Additionally, it contains information about the cerebral and cerebellar connections, cranial nerves, membranes of the nervous system, ventricular system, autonomic nervous system, and the vascularization of the nervous system. It also discusses special sense organs, namely the eye, ear, tongue, and nose, along with their respective neural connections. While the nervous system essentially constitutes a continuum of interconnected neurons, it is pedagogically divided into anatomical and functional subdivisions for educational clarity. These partitions, although artificial, facilitate a structured approach to grasping this expansive field, with cross- references judiciously inserted to map the interconnectedness of these sections. Consistency with existing curricula on neuroanatomy has been maintained to offer a consistent learning experience. Each section has been organized with academic precision to provide both basic and essential information for medical students. Colorful illustrations support the text to enhance comprehension, while clinical correlations provide insights into each topic. The book is designed with a layout that fosters ease of navigation, offering an effective learning pathway for students.

Our cordial gratitude goes to Assist. Prof. Dr. Mert NAHİR for his great skills in illustration and co-editorial contributions, to the authors for their invaluable input in each chapter, to research assistant Dr. Mansur ÖDER for his meticulous text arrangement, to Mehmet Ali KARACA, owner of the Ankara Nobel Tıp Press, for making this publication possible, and to Ayşe SIRAKAYA ÜZPEK for her elegant design work at Ankara Nobel Tıp Press.

We wish you academic success and hope that it proves to be an indispensable resource in your medical education journey.

Anatomy, the cornerstone of medical science, is the first path aspiring doctors embark on, exploring the human body in its most intimate detail. It is a fundamental study aiming to educate students about the structure and function of organs in healthy subjects, providing a strong foundation for understanding pathological processes and diseases.

This book, presented in three volumes, is a meticulously crafted work to guide you through this journey. Volume 1 focuses on the Musculoskeletal System, detailing the introduction to anatomy, bones, joints and muscles. Volume 2, Systems and Organs, delves into the rest of the body’s systems and related organs, excluding the musculoskeletal system, neuroanatomy and special sense organs. And finally, Volume 3, Neuroanatomy and Special Senses offers an insightful view into the brain, nervous system and special sense organs.

The present volume, Musculoskeletal System, is designed to be in sync with the curriculum of the musculoskeletal system as presented in medical education. The book is organized to mirror the progression of a medical student’s study: an introduction, a comprehensive exploration of the bones, joints and muscles, followed by a clinically-relevant correlation of these systems. We made this volume to help undergraduate and postgraduate students of the faculty of medicine get the critical information they need about the musculoskeletal system.

We have strived to make the learning experience engaging and effective, ensuring that each section contains crucial information for medical students. The text is complemented by vibrant, colorful illustrations that simplify complex concepts and make learning more enjoyable. We have also emphasized clinical correlations, providing a practical perspective on the anatomical details discussed.

The book’s design is student-friendly, with an intuitive layout that allows for an easy and logical progression of knowledge. It has been our prime focus to make this book not just a source of information but a guide to understanding and conceptualizing the intricate details of the musculoskeletal system.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to those who have contributed significantly to this book. Mert NAHİR, for his exquisite illustrations and co-editing, the chapter authors who have poured their knowledge into these pages, and research assistants Mansurcan ÖDER, Sefa SÖNMEZ, and Buğrahan ŞİMŞEK for their diligent work. We also want to acknowledge the support of Mehmet Ali KARACA, the owner of the Ankara Nobel Tıp Press, and Ayşe SIRAKAYA ÜZPEK, the designer of the Ankara Nobel Tıp Press, whose contributions were instrumental in bringing this book to fruition.

We hope that this book serves as a helpful companion in your journey of learning anatomy. We wish you great success, and may your understanding of the human body guide your path toward becoming compassionate, competent, and informed medical professionals.

Sağlık Bilimleri İçin Resimli Temel Anatomi
Duyuru
26.12.2023

Üyesi Mert Nahir’in büyük gayretleri ile olmuştur. Dizgiyi yapan Ankara Nobel Tıp Kitabevleri grafikeri Ayşe Sırakaya Üzpek’e gösterdiği çaba ve katkıları dolayısıyla teşekkür ederim.

Bu eserin tekrar basımı konusunda ve bize sonsuz destek sağlayan Ankara Nobel Tıp Kitabevlerinin sahibi Sn. Mehmet Ali Karaca’ya teşekkür ederim. Nihai olarak isimlerini burada ifade edemediğimiz kıymetli dostlarıma sonsuz şükranlarımı sunarım.
Öğrencilerimize yararlı olması dileğiyle....
