Pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE) may effect both the anesthesiologist and the patient during preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative period. High incidences of deep venous thrombosis (DVT) and PTE occur in patients undergoing pelvic surgery for gynecologic malignancy. Therefore, a prophylactic approach is preferred. We aimed to present the anesthetic management of a gynecologic operation in a patient with acute PTE due to DVT.
