In order to be able to talk about the culture of philosophy, a traceable continuity is necessary especially in the historical process. In the last hundred years, it can be argued that this continuity has been limited to the higher education level in our country. However, in order to be able to talk about a philosophy culture in society, it must have extended beyond higher education institutions. At this point, the traditions and culture of philosophy in higher education should be in relation to the specific ways of thinking with the country or civilization. Ways of thinking which specific to the country or civilization can be expressed in concepts such as national culture and folk culture. From this point of view, in the case of Turkey, an indirect answer has been sought to the question of whether philosophy meets folk culture. In line with this purpose; traditions, problems and differentiation in subject areas at the higher education level have been put forward by reffering to the generational differences that affect the philosophical culture in higher education since the Republic, in the continuation, the relationship between philosophy culture and folk culture in our country has been addressed by were also touching on issues such as association efforts, philosophical language discussion, translation activities. In the conclusion and suggestions section, suggestions have been put forward on the possibilities of opening philosophical traditions outside themselves by turning into a kind of philosophical culture.
