Özet

In addition to the known hosts of agent of Rhizomania (Beet Necrotic Yellow Vein Virus; BNYVV), different weed species were collected at production areas of sugar beet in Tokat in 1997-1998 to determine the new hosts. ELISA test was done after the collected weeds were identified at University of Gaziosmanpasa, Agriculture Faculty, Plant Protection Department. For the BNYVV and its vector Polymyxa betae, 13 weeds and 1 parasitic new host plant species were determined. The highest absorption values of ELISA were found in Polygonum aviculare L.(1.707), Sonchus asper (L.) Hill (1.206) and Descurainia sophia (L.) Webb. (1.176). This is the first time that Cirsium arvense (L.) Scop., Chamomilla recutita (L.) Rouschert, Xanthium strumarium L., Convolvulus arvensis L., Descurainia sophia (L.) Webb., Veronica hederifolia L., Datura stramonium L. and Tribulus terrestris L. were determined to be the new weeds for the BNYVV and its vector.
