Özet

Meningococcemic septicemia is a severe life threatening illness. It is associated with systemic thromboembolic complications, as well as with extensive tissue necrosis throughout the body and the development of peripheral gangrene. Our case was a six years old girl, had extensive skin necrosis on whole body due to meningococcemic septicemia. She was treated appropriate debridement and dressings. Large areas of tissue necrosis were grafted after debridement. Conservative management sufficed in remaining minor areas of tissue necrosis. Wound healing was normal at two months post-operatively. In this paper, we presented a case with extensive skin necrosis induced by meningococcemic septicemia and discussed surgical treatment modalities of meningococcemic septicemia.
