Özet

The heterogeneity of male infertility suggests that the treatment and improvement of sperm quality should be personalized. Karyotype analysis, Y-chromosomal microdeletion screening and mutation screening in candidate genes are the current genetic tests routinely applied for diagnostic purposes. Besides known factors underlying male infertility, it is important to investigate a variety of genetic and epigenetic factors that might result in idiopathic and unexplained infertility. Current genetic diagnostic tests are limited to identify the broad spectrum of genetic-related male infertility. Efforts should be made to develop novel clinical genetic and epigenetic diagnostic tests.
