Özet

Hazelnut is a very important export product for Turkey. It is a dominant crop and covers thousands of hectares. Insect and mite pests constitute a major impediment to hazelnut production in the Bleaksea region of Turkey. Almost 150 insect and mite species have been determined from hazelnut. Of this large number, comparitvely few are pests of economic significance. The losses they cause vary depending on regions and growing years. The damage caused by the other pests is relatively minor even in untreated orchards. In this review, we will attempt to summarize the works conducted on hazelnut insect and mite pests in the Blacksea region of Turkey to date. Also the list of all pests found in hazelnut ecosystem of the Blacksea region will be given.
