This study aims to convey the progress of digital art, which one observes its gradual expand nowadays, parallel to the technological development within a historical perspective. As the graphic characteristics of the computers, which have been produced for multiprocessing calculations, emerge, engineers and artists started to produce in cooperation images, which have been built like a mosaic, using the former graphic images and symbols. In 1968 one exhibited for the first time the works produced in digital environment and they have been selected for museum collections. Owing to both software and hardware developments of the personal computers, artists got the opportunity to use the computers for their own purposes independent of an engineer or operator. Nowadays many artists produce along with traditional techniques also works on behalf of digital art.
