Özet

The aim of this study is to analyse the intravenous urography findings of urinary tuberculosis and to evaluate significance of intravenous urography in the diagnosis. Intravenous urography examination was done in 24 patients (10 male, 14 female) who had diagnosis of urinary tuberculosis and the findings were evaluated. Intravenous urography findings were normal in 6 of 2 patients who had urinary tuberculosis. Moth-eaten apperance at calyces was seen in 2 patients, ureteral irregularity was detected in 2 patients, delayed renal function was present in 1 patient, autonephrectomy was seen in one patient, and various calyceal pathologies were detected in the remaining patients. A normal intravenous urography can not exclude urinary tuberculosis. It is not possible to make a reliable diagnosis of urinary tuberculosis by intravenous urography. Intravenous urography can only be used to observe the pathological abnormalities of urinary system in urinary tuberculosis.
