In this study, six new substituted aminoglyoximes, N-(4-methoxyphenyl)aminoglyoxime (L1H2), N-(5-chloro-2-metoxyphenyl)aminoglyoxime (L2H2), N-(3-chloro-4-metoxyphenyl)-aminoglyoxime (L3H2), N,N'-bis(4-metoxyphenyl)diaminoglyoxime (L4H2), N,N'-bis(5-chloro-2-metoxyphenyl)diaminoglyoxime (L5H2) and N,N'-bis(3-chloro-4-metoxyphenyl)diaminoglyoxime (L6H2) have been synthesized from anti-chloroglvoxime or anti-dichloroglyoxime and corresponding substituted aromatic amines. The Ni(II), Cu(II), and Co(II) complexes of these ligands were prepared. The structures of these ligands and their complexes were identified by using IR and 1H NMR spectral data, elemental analyses, thermogravimetric analyses (TGA) and magnetic measurements. The Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes of these ligands are proposed to be square-planar while the Co(II) complexes are square-pyramidal.
