Özet

Simulation is defined as the imitating of tasks, relationships, phenomenon, equipment, behavior or some cognitive activities that are actually present in reality. The developments in technology and education have implied cooperation of both areas leading to simulation practice and tools becoming prevalent and giving an opportunity for use in education. Patient safety, the rising importance of patient rights and efforts to increase the competency of students have given the opportunity for the dissemination of simulation usage in medical education. There is a necessity for recognizing simulation tools; achieving good practices for the integration of simulation-based medical education approaches in medical education programs. In this review, the purpose and advantages of simulation is examined, with simulation practices used in medical education within main headings.
