Özet

Alexandre Dumas Père is one of the most authored and read writers of 19th century French literature. Dumas previously hadwritten theater plays, but later he turned to the novel. With more than three hundred works, Dumas has been named as “TheFactory of Novel”. The works of Dumas Père have a great reputation in the literature world as well as in the world of cinema.In the film industry, there are more than three hundred films inspired by Dumas Père's works. Among these films, the Countof Monte-Cristo and the Three Musketeers generally take the first place. In 1908, Monte-Cristo was first cast by Americanproducer Francis Boggs. For decades, Monte-Cristo was launched in France on April 17, 2002, as “the Revenge of MonteCristo”, a film by Kevin Reynolds. In our country, the Count of Monte-Cristo, was adapted to the white screen in 1965 by thename of “the Road to the Sun”. In this study, the analysis of the data obtained in the light of the findings of Monte-Cristo andthe contribution of the novel to Turkish cinema has been tried to be revealed.
