At the first part of the activity, two-days workshop was organized together with 2 European and 1 Turkish Artists. Mr. Ondrej Novotny, Mr. Christiaan D. Maas from Czech Republic, Mr. Taha Baydar, Mrs. Fidan Tonza, Mrs. Ceren Pekşen, Mrs. Serap B. Özek were researchers. Mr. Tamer Aslan, Asist. Prof. and Head of the Ceramic and Glass Department, was the manager/coordinator of the activity in partner organization. We used the facilities of Ondokuz Mayıs University. 401 people participated. Focusing on the fundamentals of traditional glass-blowing techniques; the workshop helped participants to refine their skills and help them to create their own designs and products. During the 2-days workshop artists and participants experienced samples also from Turkish cultural elements like "Çeşm-i Bülbül (Nightingale's Eyes)".
The second part of the activity is the 3rd day. It began with a seminar. It
was organized with the participation of almost 50 university students. The
artists came together with students from all faculties of University. They
talked about the art in EU; chances and opportunities for artists of the
future; difficulties they can be encountered. They talked about their own
experiences. This part of the program was very eye-opening activity. It
was a good chance for students who are in Samsun where cultural and
artistic activities are limited.
After the seminar, a cocktail was organized and an exhibition was opened
that includes to the productions of two-days workshop. This exhibition is
still open for all students and local people.
