Özet

Multiple sclerosis is a chronic disease of the central nervous system, characterized by discrete areas of demyelination and axonal injury associated with inflammatory activity. Because multiple sclerosis lesions can occur in many different parts of the central nervous system, they can cause a wide variety of symptoms and signs. The mean age of onset of multiple sclerosis is about 30 years. A number of clinical and demographic factors have been reported to affect the prognosis of multiple sclerosis. In this study, we report the clinical and demographic features of 132 patients who have the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis according to Poser criteria. The description of the clinical, neuroradiological and laboratory characteristics of the cases with multiple sclerosis should lighten the ethiopathogenesis of the disease.
