Özet

On 21 September 2016, precipitations affecting coastline of Eastern Black Sea Region raised above average of long years in Besikduzu district of Trabzon province. Rainfall starting about at 15.00 in the afternoon continued heavily and turned into a natural disaster within a few hours. Cumhuriyet, Fatih, and Vardalli neighborhoods in the District Center of Besikduzu were damaged by the flood. Streets and avenues in these neighborhoods virtually turned into a lake, search and rescue operations were carried out hardly. 550 workplaces and 73 vehicles in the district center were damaged by the flood. Large and small tens of landslides occurred in the villages subjected to the district. Based on landslide events, 46 dwelling houses were damaged and 6 dwelling houses became unusable. Landslides in villages caused 3 people to loss their lives, 4 bovine animals to perish, and about 3500 decares of agricultural areas to be damaged.
